The road to rebuilding your home involves several critical steps. Here’s how Launch Homes can help you navigate this complex journey:
Notify Your Insurance Provider:
- Your first step is to inform your insurance provider of the damage or loss. They will assign an insurance adjuster to evaluate your property. We can guide you through this process to ensure everything is handled efficiently.
Preparation for Initial Contact:
- Compile a detailed list of all your belongings, accompanied by photos.
- Gather any images or plans of your home before the loss. If your home was newer and you have original plans, these will be particularly helpful.
- Be prompt in responding to any communication from the adjuster, usually through email. Clear and concise communication is key—using lists can help convey your information effectively.
Understanding the Adjuster’s Position:
- Insurance adjusters often manage a large number of cases at once. While they aim to help you get back into your home as quickly as possible, delays can occur. Patience is essential, but don’t hesitate to follow up if you haven’t heard back within seven days.
The Bid Process:
- Your insurance provider will request bids from three companies for your rebuild. You have the right to request a specific builder.
- If you would like Launch Homes to bid on your project, please share our information with your adjuster and request our participation.
- After reviewing the bids, insurance typically recommends the lowest bidder, but you can choose any builder from the bid list, provided they match the low bid price.Your insurance provider will request bids from three companies for your rebuild. You have the right to request a specific builder.
Rebuilding Your Home:
- You’re not required to rebuild the exact same home. While the insurance funds must go toward the rebuild, you have the freedom to make changes to the design. For instance, you might choose to build a two-story home instead of a bungalow. The new design must fit your lot and meet municipal building and development requirements. We’re here to assist with this process and ensure your new home is everything you envision.
